Bellaire sits beside the southwest bend of Loop 610, close to where it meets US-59/I-69, which puts it nearer to more of Houston than almost any suburb manages. Bellaire calls itself the City of Homes, and it means it.

A few miles out, Bellaire Boulevard runs into Houston's Chinatown: a long stretch of strip centers holding dim sum, hot pot, Vietnamese and Taiwanese restaurants, bakeries and karaoke rooms. From Bellaire it is typically 15 to 20 minutes on that one straight road, which makes it the easiest multi-stop evening anywhere around.

Parking is the catch, and it is a real one. Chinatown lots are shared by dozens of businesses and fill up on weekend evenings, so a bus will not find anywhere to sit and wait. Plan a drop and a pickup time at each stop and let the driver stage nearby. Bellaire High School is inside the city limits, and a dance at a Galleria-area hotel ballroom or downtown is a short drive either way. So the booking is shaped by where you take pictures and where you eat, not by the miles. Keep the hours tight around those two stops and the dance itself, and make sure the return pickup matches the time the school actually releases students rather than the time on the invitation.

The school sets its own rules for students arriving at the dance, so check those before you fix anything.
